  • Hi,

I'm sorry your father isn't being given the care he needs. Was your father discharged to the hospice after being a hospital inpatient or did he go there from his home? Was it because they believed he was near the end of life or was it a temporary arrangement to get his palliative medication sorted out? Who arranged the transfer to the care home - the next of kin should have been included in any decision. Does your father have an Adult Services Social Worker dealing with his needs - these are the people that tend to make most of the decisions (discharge from hospital to a suitable place with care in place ie.home, hospice or care home) but they should do this with either next of kin or, if your father is not cognitively impaired, with his agreement.
