Blood Clot with Brain Cancer

My best friend is fighting stage 4 agressive brain cancer.  She has always remained positive from beginning, last few weeks her speech and memory has got worse and this week after her routine MRI a clot has been found.  On looking up the internet I discover this is common but can be nasty,  however even the good results onher 3 tumours growth is overshadowed by this clot.  She has for first time spoken of feeling different and wishing to speak of her funeral wishes.  We always are honest with each other.  I would like to give her proper information as her family brush it off with you will be fine so she does not raise the subject with them.  Is this the grim sign she suspects, or another part of this awful disease .  Thanks in advance xx

  • I'm really sorry about the clot that's been found. No doubt this is a difficult time for you all but unfortunately no-one on the forum can really say what this means.

If your friend gives their permission you may be able to discuss this with her medical team but in the meantime you're welcome to chat with one of our cancer nurses next week. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

You may also be able to get information and advice about this on the The Brain Tumour Charity's website.

    Best wishes to you both,
