Husband with polycythemia Vera

Hi, just wanting to ask about my husband. He suffers with anxiety and mood swings. How do I help him. Life sometimes is difficult for him is it part of polycythemia Vera, he was diagnosed a year ago. He hasn't had blood taken for a while as his count is just at the limit. However, a recent phone call from the hospital suggested he will shortly start medication. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
