Welcome to the forum Dotlynda although I'm sorry about your mum.
Hopefully some of our members who have the same diagnosis will be able to offer their support and advice to you soon but our cancer nurses are just a phone call away if you'd like to talk things through with them. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
We're here for you both at this testing time.
Kind regards,

Hello, my name is Ange and sadly I lost my Dad to duodenal cancer on 14th November 2019. Since his palliative diagnosis in September 2017, he and our family went through all sorts of emotions. Dad never shared his feelings and I wish he had. He must have been so frightened and angry, I know I was. We had superb help from the district nurses and we were referred to Macmillan. Dad was allocated a Macmillan nurse and she with the district nurses were able to sort out pain relief and an alternative to Morphine as Dad was allergic to it. The best advice I can give is to ring Macmillan on 0808 808 00 00. It is a free phone number 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week. Macmillan isn’t just for people who are terminally ill, many people are helped by Macmillan who make a full recovery. Hope this helps you in some way.
