NHL

My mum has recently been diagnosed with high grade non Hodgkin's lymphoma and i am just an anxious mess with this virus going around. She is starting radiotherapy soon as it is too unsafe to do chemo with this virus. Worried that her chances of being "cured" will be decreased as she is not getting the treatment that she would have if this virus wasn't going around. Never a good time to get diagnosed with cancer but this makes everything so much worse

  • Hi Koko29,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm very sorry to read about your mum. As you say this is an incredibly tough situation to deal with at the best of times let alone with everything that's going on at the moment.

The medical team will no doubt be doing the best they can for your mum, so try to take things one day at a time - I know that's cliched and easier said than done but it can help. Try not to think about 'what ifs' too much, but rather focus on the here and now and the next steps to be taken for your mum.

If you'd like to talk anything through with our nurses then you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

I also hope you find this forum useful, and a safe space to write down any thought or worries - it's a very understanding community of people.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
