Advice needed

Hi hope your all staying safe as you can. My husband finished chemo and radiotherapy after 6 weeks last week for HPV tonsil cancer. His pretty poorly now, RIG fed, open sores neck and mouth and in lots of pain. I am front line NHS and been given a month to work from home supporting my team.

My husband also has high probability papillary thyroid cancer likely to need surgery and radioactive iodine.

I am frontline NHS and do not know what to do about returning to work and sending my children to school under key worker scheme in 1 month time. I am going to risk making my husband unwell and his not well enough to look after the children.

Any ideas what to do?

Thanks

  • I'm glad your husband has finished his treatment Venice although I'm sorry about the pain he's in and for the difficult situation you find yourself in.

I hope the information we have about coronavirus and cancer on our website will help but as the situation changes and more evidence becomes available about corona virus and its impact, the information may change so we would suggest that you check the government information on this link from time to time.

Hopefully some of our members will offer their thoughts if they have found themselves in a similar situation but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing you all the very best at this difficult and uncertain time.

    Kind regards,
