  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Holly although I'm sorry about your mam. This must be very difficult.

No doubt you and your mum are going through a rollercoaster of emotions right now but I'm glad you've joined us as many of our members have been in this position with their loved ones so will really understand how you're feeling and I'm sure some of them will pop soon to offer their support and advice.

In the meantime, I'm going to include some information we have which is aimed at family, friends and caregivers. I hope this helps but if you want to discuss anything with our cancer nurses do give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello

I know how devastated you must be. My mum is my best friend as well and doctors suspect she has stage 4 colon cancer which has metastasised to her liver and lymph node on her stomach. Yesterday I was in bits. I wish this awful disease wouldn't spread!! It seems to have spread so quickly and mum showed no outer signs of illness at all she seemed to be so healthy despite diabetes.
they may offer chemo or immuno but that's a maybe and we don't live in a good area. Surgery can't be done as there are to many tumours and at 71 she is too old.
I am nervous, angry, shocked and extremely sad. Mum is my best friend and I just can't lose her.
