I'm not a medic, but know that Stage 4 Bowel cancer, spread to liver, can sometimes be treated with curative intent. Which is unusual for Stage 4 cancers in general. It would therefore essential for you to get as much information as possible, so that you fully understand what the options are. Maybe your husband will give you permission to talk to the doctors, and ask questions, on your own?

He has given me permission to talk to them. Im waiting on a call from his nurse sometime today. I'm going to have a chat with her and ask some questions while he's not with me. Thanks for the reply. Victoria

That's great.  I really hope your conversation is a good as it can possibly be. As I said before, I am not a medic, but understand that any curative treatment would normally consist of surgery, possibly after a period of chemo to shrink the tumours. But there are some other options as well, some involving forms of radiotherapy. The nurse may not know all the options, or may not be allowed to discuss them because she is not a doctor. So you may need to talk to your husband's doctor at some point.

If your husbands case seems somehow borderline regarding the possibility of treating with curative intent, then do not hesitate to seek a second opinion. There are centres of excellence for this sort of treatment.
