Covid-19

My husband has advanced prostate cancer. Does anyone know if he is more at risk with regard to coronavirus?

  • Hello Carney
Everyone should follow PHE Advice on protecting themselves and limiting the spread of the coronavirus virus.  This is especially important if have a family member has supressed immunity due to cancer treatment or because of how cancer is affecting them.
The coronavirus is more dangerous to people who have an immune system that is not working properly.  People going through some types of cancer treatment such as chemotherapy may have a reduced immunity. Sometimes it can it can be a long term side effect of treatment. Sometimes certain cancers might also impact on a person's ability to fight off infection.  This is why it is especially important for cancer patients, survivors and their families to follow the PHE advice carefully.
You can keep up to date via the NHS website here

I hope this offers you some reassurance.
