Recurrence oesophageal cancer - brain and bone metastases

My husband has recurrent oesophageal cancer with brain and bone mets.

The last couple of days he has had a really bad cough and is not eating. Every time he tries to eat it makes him sick. I am worried sick.

I am so worried that he cannot keep anything down.

Is there anything I can do? Has anyone else been through this? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • Hello Lola65,

I am sorry to hear about your husband being unable to keep anything down at the moment and having a really bad cough. I hope that you will hear from others here who have been in a similar situation before and that they will have some helpful suggestions for you.

I think it would be a good idea perhaps to ring your husband's doctor and mentioning this bad cough and the fact that he is not eating anything and that he can't keep anything down. I hope that the doctor will be able to prescribe something to alleviate his symptoms. It's definitely worth talking to your husband's GP about it or getting in touch with his medical team to see what they would advise in his particular circumstances.

I hope that your husband gets better soon and that he is able to keep food down. It must be really hard for you to watch him like this but hopefully the doctors will be able to advise you further and help him feel better.

    Best wishes,
