Radiotherapy after thyroid and lymph node cancer

Hi all, my husband had his thyroid gland removed 2 years ago and even with regular check ups he had cancer found in the lymph nodes of the neck. Surgery was in November where 100 nodes were removed and 6 were cancerous with the cancer behaving aggressively (consultant words).

We saw his oncologist for the first time last week and he has to have a 6 week course of radiotherapy.  I am worried as he is still not physically over the surgery.

Any advice pre treatment gratefully received.
