my mum has been diagnosed with stomach cancer and may be offered chemo in tablet form to extend her life and ease symptoms. Does anyone know if these type of drugs have harsh side effects?
I'm sorry to hear that Mum has been diagnosed with cancer. There are side effects to all medications however it's important to remember that they can affect people to differing levels and some people have very little side effect from chemo. The team looking after Mum should be able to go through all the possible side effects before she starts treatment. If you know the name of the particular drug she will be taking then you can likely find more infomration about it on our website here.
If you have any particular concerns then do chat to her Dr or nurse and heopfully they will be able to give you some reassurance.
