End of life - Symptoms

My Mam has been having good days and bad days, however, her bad days seem to becoming more frequently. She is sleeping a lot more and when she is awake she is severely confused

I have noticed when supporting changing her and by the carers notes when turning her on her side she has a brown discharge from her vagina (sorry if this is too much for people I cant find anything on internet) but was wondering if this was normal or if anyone has heard of this?

Thanks everyone!!

  • Hi Mala, didn't want to leave this unanswered. I'm not a medical person, but it did occur to me that this could be a urinary tract infection, and she might need antibotics or even need more help with drinking if she's dehydrated. Both those could cause confusion and discharge....It sounds like you might need a nurse at least to advise....not too much detail by the way....but part of the problem with caring for our loved ones is that the symptoms might be all we can go on. Given don't know your Mum's age could even be hormonal.....either way, recognise you are trying to interpret what's right thing to do now and you need some input from someone who can interpret better. Hope things are a little better now also.
