My dad was diagnosed in April 19 with stage 4 kidney cancer that had spread to the bones and lungs. He underwent 3 rounds of chemo and at the end of this he was told they would give him a 3 month break from any treatment. Is this normal?
During the 3 months my dads health has become much worse. He has been hospitalised for problems with his heart. He has undergone one treatment of radiotherapy for bone pain in his neck. Yet still he hadn't seen his oncologist, who wants to wait until January.
Recently my dad has also stopped eating as he feels sick. He is also getting a lot of infections that are being dealt with by the gp.
i feel as though my family are in denial and think he is going to start feeling better at some point but I can't see that happening now. Am I wrong?
I feel as though my parents are in limbo at the moment, with no one really telling them the full story. It's heartbreaking to see.
i suppose a lot of people feel the same frustration as I am but it would be nice to hear how others are coping?
