My nan 90 has cancer

My great grandmother has had a brilliant life so far, although she has had 2 episodes of a mini stroke in the last year and has suprisingly got over it without any known issues or paralysis.

But last week she went to see her Consultant after a scan and he has confirmed that she has a large tumour in her kidney, which has not yet spread to any other organs. She is very upset as we are also in shock as she looks so well and is very independent.

she is supposed to be walking my sister down the isle in June on her wedding day. She does not think she will be here in June and is constantly worried about it.

can anyone give me any input on roughly how much time my great grandmother has please?

im very grateful for any advice on this.

  • Hello Moliwyn2007

I'm sorry to hear about your Great Grandmother's recent diagnosis.
It's positive to hear that despite her mini strokes she has been doing so well. It's impossible for us to be able to comment on how things will progress for her as there may be lots of things that will impact that.
Undoubtedly family members will have questions about what is next for her and the best people to speak to about that would be the Consultant or a specialist nurse if she has been allocated one.

I'm sorry that we're not able to help more.
    Best wishes,
