Dad with terminal cancer

Hi there,

my dad has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer after a visit to the hospital with headaches we found out that he had 8 tumours on his brain as well as a 6 mass in his colon and masses in the bowl he also has it in his lymph nodes. 7 weeks ago they said he had a couple of days to live we are here now and he his in palaitive care. I am really struggling to come to terms with it as I don't think he has long left and I am only 21 and it's the first real loss I have had

  • I'm sorry your going through this and I just wanted to respond. No words of wisdom I'm afraid but can you use him as your point of comfort?  He's still your Dad and somehow they always know the right thing to say to make their daughters feel it's all going to be OK.

  • Sorry to hear about your dad, I’m going through the same nightmare! My dad was diagnosed 4 weeks ago with Lung Cancer and brain mets, he is in his final days now..just can’t believe it, we are all totally devastated...he was walking around the golf course 4 weeks ago

  • I'm sorry to hear about your father. My mum has oesophageal cancer and each day breaks my heart. The only thing I can do to help is stay strong and put their feelings first, be led by them. Knowing that I'm dealing with her day to day practical things like paying bills etc makes it easier for her. Just remember the love you have for your father will never fade.
