No treatment or medication anyone else in the same position?

Hi everyone, first of all I have to say I think everyone here is amazing, I've been reading for a while and I just think everyone is so so brave.
I'm posting about my grandad, he is 82 (just!) and is refusing every bit of medical intervention there is, we haven't even had an official diagnosis as he won't let them investigate further, however, he collapsed in August after his blood sugars dropped to 2.4 and broke his hip, from this he had xrays for the hip and found a shadow on his lung, a mass in his stomach and we are 99.9% he has testicular cancer also. Since this he has lost a lot of weight, is tired all the time but still keeps going and lives independently with me visiting:taking him out 6 days a week. I don't really have a point to my post, only wondering if there is anyone out there to chat to or going through anything similar. My grandad has always been fit/healthy/stubborn! It's just difficult seeing him like this and not really knowing what is actually going on or if he's in more pain then he says.
anyway sorry for rambling!

sending best wishes to every individual and family here

  • Hi there, I think at Grandads age they know best!  The treatment for lung cancer isn't easy, my husband has it and it's been hard enough for him and he's ten years younger.  You're supporting him well and I expect he's very grateful for your help.  Just carry on doing what you can and make sure he gets the support you need later on.  Good luck, Carol
