Fighting

Hi,  I'm sorry but I have no one else to talk to.  My lovely husband has had cancer on and off for 9 years.  But this one is different.  He had a tumour in his bladder last year and had 6 weeks of chemo as an inpatient.  Then last November he was told that treatment was over and he had 3/6 months.  You can imagine what Christmas was like last year.  However, since then he has had more chemo followed by radiotherapy and he is still here coming up a year after we were given 'that' news.

But, he is having pains that he hasn't had before,  other symptoms,  he is really tired and his appetite isn't what it was.  He is due a PET scan next month and we have a Haematology appointment on 5th December, 3 days before we have a big family party to celebrate his birthday.

I've been strong, I've cried in private,  I've tried to stay positive but I have this feeling that the next appointment isn't going to be good news.

Thank you for reading my post.

  • Hi Petalgirl

I am afraid I can offer no words of wisdom as I am very new to caring for somebody with cancer, other than that your husband is a very lucky man to have you in his life. As women I think we try so hard to care about everybody else around us that we forget to care for ourselves. Take this as a sign to do something nice for yourself. Have a bubble bath or book a massage. I will be thinking about you both.
    Hang in there
