Chemotherapy and living a life

Hi all,

my Dad’s on chemo and he struggles as normally he was a very a fit man for his age and now he finds the tiredness and weakness difficult to bear psychologically if anything all the time.

Also, the loss of taste is something that he misses of course..

Please can anyone tell me what helped them in the above circumstances?

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat KathOrange although I'm sorry to read about the impact the side effects of your dad's chemo is having on him at the moment.

We have some tips for coping with tiredness and changes in taste on our website but I'm sure some of members will offer their advice soon as well.

If you'd like to discuss this with one of our cancer nurses do give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi kathorange i  found strong tastes weren't so bad, food like curry's, and strong cordials I'm afraid aches and panes, and tiredness it's mainly keep going but don't over doit it's finding the limit and stopping or it makes it worse, best wishes to your dad, and you make sure you look after yourself as well..,,,,....
