My poorly fiance - pancreatic cancer spread to liver

Ian was half diagnosed with pancreatic cancer spread to the liver in early august, long story but his pathology had to go to another hospital to get a 2nd opinion of which it was what we knew..its now nearly the end of September and this cancer has took him from me,I no longer see the big guy with big shoulders. It's someone I dont recognize. The thing is,I work in palliative care,I know what's coming but no one else in the family seems to see things. He was told 6 months but if so months just went by.

  • Hi Cheryl

My dad had the same diagnosis at the beginning of August, I have no idea what to expect but I’m shocked at how quickly he has gone downhill, he was still working when he found out and then he was told he only has a few months, hardly eats and sleeps all the time

He has now started chemo but has been so ill with it im not sure how long he’ll carry on with it.

    hope your ok

  • Hi Cheryl I wish you all the hugs in the world. My mum had pancreatic cancer, from her diagnosis to her passing was 5 weeks 5 days. I still struggle on and it's been 13 years. My mum was a fighter and did this cancer on paracetamol only.. she refused those s most of the time and tried her best to fight it off. I hope you find support with your family and friends as I had very little support from anyone and even my manager was un supporting, I know I can't bring you pleasant news but I do wish you my best x
