Worried about my uncle

My uncle has lung cancer in 2015 which was removed. He’s lost a lot of weight and had internal bleeding of unknown cause (as yet) causing orthostatic hypotension. CT thorax to pelvis shows enlarged lymph modes, they are monitoring the lungs, thickening of bowel wall and a lesion on his liver of unknown significance. They want to do a colonoscopy also. Should I be concerned here? He’s been quite unwel.

  • Hi Tamz

I'm sorry to hear about your Uncle's health problems. I can see from some of your previous posts that you've had a number of family members who have been diagnosed with cancer over the past few years so it's understandable that you're feeling concerned about things.

Presumably the Dr's are still unsure about some of his symptoms hence the reason for wanting to further investigations. Hopefully the colonoscopy will give them more information that will help them to determine what the underlying cause is.

I hope that he doesn't have to wait too long for the appointment and the results.

    Best wishes,

  • My uncle is now only 8st 2lb. GP has advised that this does look like progression of disease and he was too unwell for colonoscopy. He is very frail and it does flock likely that he is heading for palliative care.
