Feeling Low - Need support

Hi,

My husband is 32 yrs old. He was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine tumor on the shoulder in March 2018 and had gone through surgery and radiotherapy last year. I have been strong enough to support him throughout as I stuck with him, given him support. I was positive that he will come out of it. Last October, his radiation finished and he has been under monitoring since then. And also they removed his tonsils too as it was enlarged at the same time. He was alright with all the tests and scans until last month.

Recently about 3 months back, he has been getting spasms or twitching over the neck and was worried as the neck goes stiff for 2 min or so. So his next MRI scan was due this 3rd September as he was worried so much, We went to see the doctor and had an MRI last Saturday. So the results came in yesterday and they found one more lymph nodes around the neck which the radiologists said it's concerning. I am devastated and now he has to go through biopsy and further scans in the next few weeks. I have yet to speak to my employer and my mind is unsettled as now. I need to seek advice from outside. I am normally strong but I am not sure how I am gonna cope with the stress now.

  • Hi

I hope you're doing ok and have someone to talk to as wonderful it is you look after your husband, you need to look after yourself too and it's ok not to feel strong at times like this, the waiting for results is very difficult. I have a mastectomy booked for this Wednesday. My husband is my rock but I also worry about him and he doesn't get the support from his work that I've had from mine although we both have amazing family support. I hope the results are good for you both and happy to chat with you anytime. Look after yourself too. X
