caring for hubby with esophagus cancer

My hubby has esophagus cancer 6 treatment of chemo  went in remission for 6 months started up again then had 18 tretments of chemo in remission since feb has had 2 ct scans they are keeping it at bay not spread any where else they call his treatment pallitive chemo since he stopped treatmen he is having bother keeping food down hardly eats soups custard all he can tolerate weight loss cant sleep and loads of other things i try my best to look after him but i need advice  help.

    So sorry to hear your husband is suffering this disgusting cancer .

    My dad was diagnosed about a month ago the same cancer , stage 4 and it has gone to his liver and maybe his bone ?

    He has suffered so much with only soups and very soft food and on Ensure high calorie drinks . 

    I hate this cancer, i know what your feeling , my dad starts chemo on Thursday , i prey he can eat again after this ? 

    Anybody going through this has my deepest sympathies , it is just horrific to watch a loved one suffer like this ! 

  • Thank you so much for replying first of all my sympathy to you and yours my hubby is on that ensure also at least you know they are getting something from it  its a horrible thing cancer

    i myself had bowel cancer 13 years ago part of bowel removed no further treatment i was lucky my hubby not so lucky he does not have any secondries not in lyhmf nodes so thats something its just its taking him longer to get over chemo as you say its soul destroying watching them i break my heart a million times a day out of his sight but you cant always stay strong thanks again

  • My pleasue , I'm sorry to hear uour story of bowel cancer , I'm glad your cancer free now, that is no consolation as your husband is going through hell at this time , Just like my dad.

  • HI tonid unfortunatly my hubby has heart probs which he had before the cancer he was to have valve replacement that was shelved when the found the cancer he still sees his heart doctor o he is having what they call pallitive chemo they can keep it at bay but cant cure him  so no op he was diognosed 3 yrs ago he was given 6 months if he did not have chemo he is not doing so good right now x
