Hi , I’m in a similar situation with my Dad , we’ve managed to get the ball rolling via our GP to get the Palliative care team in to look at pain relief as they will talk with the GP and put suggestions to them regards how to deal with your loved ones medication . Our team also got in touch with Social services regards a care package which is basically someone coming in to help to your loved ones needs when required , we have also been supplied with items for the home just to make life more comfy for Dad , speak with Marie Curie as they can supply a nurse for evenings when needed and when available as they’re  a charity , don’t leave this all to late as it takes a little bit of time for visits from the different agencies , talk about this  ASAP with your partner as you don’t want to panic when care is needed and nothing is in place , I wish we did it a month or so ago . It’s difficult and you’ll all feel many different emotions along this journey .
