I'm sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis. I hope your mum is doing okay and that the surgery went well.

My mum was diagnosed almost 6 years ago with a glioblastoma. The chemo and radiation was really tough on her. We made sure we had a plan and schedule to make sure the chemo was taken around the same time everyday. We also planned something after going to get radiotherapy like going to the park or for lunch just to ensure it wasn't always about going to get treatment.

I was struggling to cope too. I drew some strength from how amazing my mum was being and always tried to have a laugh and fun with her. You will draw strength from each other. Make sure you look after yourself and get time away from the situation also. Go out with friends or do something active as it can be easy to feel isolated while all this is going on.

If you are looking for anything else that is not available on the NHS you can talk to her consultant about possible clinical trails. I don't know what's out there now but I found researching about possible treatments a bit therapeutic and gave us questions to ask her consultant.

I hope anything I've wrote here helps you. It's a tough journey but one I found made me and my mum grew closer because of it. Make sure you look after her and make sure you look after yourself.
