Stent

Can someone give me some advice my husband as had a stent put down his throat due to his cancer. It's been a week now since it was fitted. The doctor had to force it down as there was not a lot of space due to the tumour has grown.  But since then he in more pain  and cannot really eat and drink due to the pain in his chest. Has anyone had one fitted or know someone who as had a stent fitted. Is this pain normal? Does the pain get better over time?. He's has no more treatment a port from the stent that was fitted . The McMillan nurse is coming Friday. We been married over 35 years he's my world and we never been a port.i can see his getting weeker but he still try to do his hobbys. I know it sounds stupid but i keep thinking is this the beginning of the end .It my birthday tomorrow and I told everyone I'm not doing anything because it will just over year tomorrow he was diagnosed. He said tonight he wished he never had the stent fitted.

  • Hi sweet

I ask that question every day why us. It's hard to stay strong when you see your love one in so much pain. But you keep smiling and try to say the right words to say without upsetting them. To day is my birthday and we would have a family dinner in the past but this year .Me and my husband stayed in as he was into much pain.he apologised about not going out. I just made a joke of it saying I preferred my sandwich instead of going out. All ways say you Love them. I know your crying on the inside like me. Love to you and your family.

    Take care xx
