Dad with advanced prostate Cancer

Hello to everyone,

My father was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in October 2016. His PSA was over 4000 and it had spread to his lymph nodes on bone (his pelvis, sternum and clavical). He had 6 months of chemo, prostrap injection ( which he is still on). The prostrap stopped being effective at the beginning of this year so they started him in zytega? This was effective for a few months but stopped working so his now on treatment 3  of 6 of radium 223. He is massively struggling with this treatment, he has lost 12kg in 3 months, he has constant stomach issues and no energy at all. He can hardly walk anywhere without having to sit down and has low blood pressure and slight anemia. His consultant has said that if things don’t improve with this round of treatment he should stop and they might consider further chemo but this would be more aggressive than the radium treatment. It is breaking my heart to see him so weak and confused but the consultant doesn’t really explain the way forward or (and I know they can’t say what is next) but I need to know what to expect next.) Any advice on how to help him and support him would be really gratefully received. xx
