My mother was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer following a sudden “show” of blood post menopause .
She had a ultra sound that day revealing a mass ....at this time she was still working two jobs a day
A week later aCT a week later the CT results showing spread to lymph nodes and bi later plural effusions.
Possible primary of ovarian but needing biopsy week later biopsy results confirmed ovarian booked in this Wednesday for oncologist and plan ......
in the mean time mum went down hill rapidly and with fear that if she went to the hospital she would not be offered treatment she and us tried to manage but Saturday we went to the ED ......
was told by a jounior doctor that mum was probably terminal and in a nut shell they wouldn’t do anything no antibiotics to treat suspected pneumonia no chest drain for the effusion no chemo.....
devestaded us ..... how ever after a word in the corridor I realised he had no clue what he was on about and spoke to the consultant instead.....
we have a chest drain we have antibiotics and she is doing really well ..... oncology tomorrow sooooo my question is as anyone had a similar set back prior to treatment and gone on to respond well ..... my mum is by far the strongest women I know
