Hi everybody I am new to the forum. 

Today I heard those words that nobody wants to hear that my dad has vocal chord cancer after having a biopsy 2 weeks ago. He has continued to lose his voice for the last 8 months no other symptoms weight loss etc and he has been told it’s very curable and his is localised although they explained it was like a cauliflower shape all the way up his left vocal chord the next stage is to have 4-6 weeks of radio therapy everyday on both vocal chords as they can’t target the one. 

Any comments from anybody that been through the treatment would be welcomed side effects things that can help him I’ve read about humidifiers and soft tooth brushes any advise I would welcome. 

I am still in total shock!
