Moving care to near family

Hello,

My mother-in-law has been told that she has 3 months to live following diagnosis of terminal cancer. She lives on her own, 3.5 hours drive from us and will increasingly lose mobility and sight from here on in.

She has very good care from her local GP, hospital and Macmillan’s nurses but we’d like to transfer her to London so that we can look after her better. I imagine she’d start living with us but soon have to have more specialist and hospice care.

Does anyone know how easy it is to transfer cancer patients to a different part of the country and access specialist cancer services including hospice/ palliative  care?

Many thanks

E

  • Hi EB48, hope i don't sound nasty, but have you thought about your mother in law she might like it we're she is remember London can be very busy, if she's not well now think about her journey to London, it won't help her either, hope you get sorted soon best wishes.
