  • Hi Hayley

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum's cancer recurrance. It's understandable that you're feeling as you do at the moment.

Doctors base their assessment of someone's outlook on their experience of other patients with the same cancer. Although, they may be able to give an estimated time, it is very difficult for them to give an accurate prognosis as there is always a lot of uncertainty about how any advanced cancer will behave.

If Mum is struggling with her pain management then please do speak to the hospital, her GP or the palliative care team who will be able to assess Mum to see how they can help.

If you'd like to chat to one of our team of nurses for some advice and support, then you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
