Beautiful hospice

My daughters going into a hospice tomorrow for some rest and to get on top of her pain , I used to think that people only go in a hospice to die but that is not the case , my daughter alongside other people go and stay in a hospice when they need respite and to get on top of their pain, I never imagined a hospice to be how it was until my daughter was there last time , I expected it to be a sad place but it’s not  it’s got a happy atmosphere there beautiful gardens lovely staff and they do a great job to make your love one  and there  families to feel comfortable it’s a beautiful place, so yes my daughters goes to stay there tommorow not sure for how long  but I no she’s in good hands , so for anyone out there on this forum if you here the word hospice mentioned by one of your drs  about yourself or your love one don’t  think the worst yes some people do go to a hospice in there last days to pass away but not always some people as I said before go into a hospice to get rest from the struggles of their cancer and cancer treatment

  • Hi Christine...

You put it down so lovely ... hospices are to make every day count ... not wait for an end ... it's about today .. it's about the little things .. and yea those staff are angels put on earth to help those who are on their journey ... that's where I want to go, if this cancer takes me ...

I'm sure there's a few exceptions but all those I've seen are amazing places .. no visiting hours.. they are so adaptable ... and the children's hospice is making every day a smile day ... and their not funded by the government... that's where I'd like to help ...

So you know you can rest assured your girl is being well cared for ... that's what we all want ... pain control and a hand to hold ... so sending you a vertual hug.... your one amazing mum ...

    Chrissie xx
