Hello my name is Rachel and I just want to say how much I feel for you this is a terrible time and I am so so sorry.  I just can't imagine what you all must be going through right now.  I myself have just come through cervical cancer and we have two young girls.   It's so hard with children isn't it trying to pretend to me normal.  Big warm hugs to you.   I'm sorry to hear about your husband your going through such a terrible time.  Plus loosing your father in law also.  And now your mum as well. This is just so unfair.   Are you entitled to any support there are nurses on here and I am sure that they will reply.  Has your mum been given a date for treatment.  We are all here for you on this site and are here day or night if you want to just chat.  I found this site extremely helpful and I have met some wonderful friends on here also.

Hi Rachel, thank you for your lovely words. Sorry to hear about your fight with this awful disease. Hope that you are now well? Yes it is hard with the children. My 8 year old has been affected the most watching her dad going down hill. Wish I could shield it all from them but I can’t and trying to fit everything in around constant trips to the hospital with a 2 year old in tow is a mission lol. We have been offered counselling through the hospice but are going to see how things go. Mums plan is to have an mri, biopsy and then see oncologist next week for date to start chemo. The cannot operate at the mo as there is a lot of fluid build up and it would be too dangerous so the are trying to shrink the tumours first. She fought breast cancer 7 years ago. They are not sure if this is linked from that yet until the biopsies are done.

Hello Looblyloo35  I am so so very sorry to read what you and all your family have been and continue to go through.  There are no words that I can say I just wish with all my heart and soul that this was not happening to you all.  I was sitting here feeling so very lost and alone after losing my husband of 36 yrs nearly 3 yrs ago I miss him so very much he was and will always be my world, and then I read this.  My heart goes out to you all.  I hope people on this forum will help give you the strength to cope and help you in any way they can.  Please know you are not alone and being thought about every day and night. Sending warmest big hugs to you all xxxx

Things arnt getting any better here but we are soldiering on and makeing the most of every little second. Trying to look at the positives everyday and not let cancer rule my family’s life. Im 17, and my dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer last year and now has a stoma bag. He had 8 chemo sessions, and was given the all year around Christmas 2018. I was over the moon. But in February of this year we found out he now has liver and pelvic cancer...to which there is now now cure.

His mum, my granny, passed away of cancer too. Through this time though, positivity even on dark days has been what has gotten us through hard times. Make the most of all opportunities, your family is strong.

im so sorry to hear of the hard times your family is going through. Life can be so cruel at times. Is your dad on any treatments? Sorry to hear about your granny too .
