10 cm Ovarian Mass - rising CA levels....

My mum has been having 'episodes' for 6 months of severe abdominal pain. This week she has just been told that she has a 10 cm ovarian mass and rising CA-125 levels following blood tests and a CT scan. She is now being advised to have an ultrasound but we are unsure what that is going to tell us that a CT scan didn't. Can anyone advise?

The not knowing prognosis is terrible!! Is there a quicker way to establish the stage and grade of tumour without waiting for NHS appointments. Are there any reputable private services??

    My Mum 3 weeks ago was also told she had a 5cm ovarian mass and she would need a Hysterectomy to remove everthing, this would take 4-6 weeks to get her hospitsl appoinmtmwent, she has just been  in for a bone denisty scan and next Friday has her lung test scan to make sure all is ok ready for the op.

     

    I totatlly get where your coming from as all this waiting around is driving me mad, trying to get on with your lives as noramlly as you can with this hanging over you.

    I hope your Mum is ok!!!
