Brain cancer

Hi my uncle had lung cancer. He had an opporation he is now lung cancer free. The really sad thing is he has got 5 deposits in his brain from the lung cancer. He has had radio theropy . We don't know the outcome of his treatment as of yet as we havnt had his x-ray to see if it's worked or not. :( I'm wondering if there is anyone in the same situation that  has taken cannabis oil and has had positive results  thankyou in advance.

  • Welcome to the forum Konnor although I'm sorry to read about your uncle.

Waiting to see if treatment has worked is always tough but I and the rest of the cancer chat community will have our fingers crossed the radiotherapy has been successful in treating the deposits.

I saw you were asking about cannabis oil so I just wanted to make you aware of the latest guidelines and share a blog article we have about this on our website. If you have any further questions it would be best to discuss this with your uncle's medical team but you're more than welcome to give our cancer nurses a quick call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m as well.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Konnor,

My partner Steven has brain cancer and as part of his treatment plan he uses medical marijuana (we live in the US and our state allows the medical use).  It helps him.   It helps with his hunger to make sure he eats, it helps with his mood and helps him not feel so depressed, it also helps with pain (but his pain cannot be managed with cannabis alone, he is on fentanyl patches and dilauded)

Steven has Glioblastoma so his brain cancer is just that, not spread from a different part of the body. Not sure if that makes a huge difference, but in the case of Cannabis I would reccomend it based on what it has done for steven.

    Best of luck!

    Rebecca.
