I was just wondering how you are now? My uncle has a 2.6mm melanoma and is waiting for surgery to see whether it has spread. Everyone is feeling veru anxious and thinking the worse.
I'm sorry to hear about your uncle and I can understand how you must all be very worried. Hopefully his melanoma was caught early and his wide local excision (and sentinel lymph node biopsy if he's having one) will come back clear. Treatment for melanoma has been moving apace over the last few years so there are better outcomes for a lot more patients than there once were. I was first diagnosed 23 years ago and it came back and had spread 10 years ago but I'm still here, fit and healthy, so there is hope that your uncle will be fine.
