Caring for someone with cancer Radio therapy

My son had radiotherapy last session 19th April. For a brain tumour. Or a sprinkling of tiny tumours. Had a full week of treatment.

Hes so tired. I understand this. But I'm worried because hes been in bed for a whole week.

He has pains in his hamstring area, says his bum hurts.

Ok when lying down but sitting or walking a little starts the pain off.

Is it ok for him to be in bed like this x I hate trying to get him up. Not sure if I should. ???

Hello Aunlynne; this must be a worrying time for you. I would ring the department who are caring for your son and ask them what is the best thing to do. Or if you are getting home visits from nursing staff they could also advise you. In the meantime I don't think it would hurt to move his position in bed if he is feeling discomfort. As another alternative you could ring the nurses here (Freefone 0808 800 4040 Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) Best wishes. Annie

I have spoke to christies hotline x I think I'll ring the nurses on here and try Christie's tomorrow again xx hes just getting depressed and I feel so helpless x he is getting up to go loo etc
