My mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non small cell Lung Cancer last February. She under went chemo treatment and has generally been in good health since.
Over the past 6 weeks she's had spells of confusing. One day will be terrible, but over the next 4-5 she'll get back to her normal self.
The GP treated for a urine infection x 2...but never seems to go beyond this. She focuses on the care plan (non-cancer related, general old age) that my mum has so far failed to complete.
The Macmillian lung cancer nurse at the hospital is overstretched. She is slow to act, has ordered an 'urgent' CT scan to check for brain mets but this morning I've been advised that it could be further 2 weeks before that happens.
I feel like I'm getting zero support and I don't know where to turn to. I'm 35, we lost my dad 15 years ago, and I'm an only child. I live in Wales (my with husband and family) where as my Mum's in Scotland. Her neighbours are fantastic but I feel like there is surely other services that should be able to offer some support. Our family say they'll help but don't.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated x
