Mum has Leukaemia

hi there everyone.

In July last year (2018) my mam was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukaemia. This took a toll on the family. My dad worked away and my brother was else were with work. So that left me the youngest child to care for my mam. I was trying so hard to act like it wasn’t effecting my college performance but it was. I face reality I knew there was only 20% chance my mam would see the next year or two. But I had hope. Unfortunately my hope wasn’t enough. The transplant was unsuccessful. Meaning now my mam will not live. I’m now 17. My mam is still alive but no one knows for how long. Its a rollercoaster but it’s my mam and I’ll do anything for her till the very end.

after going through this I think their should be more research on all the types of leukaemia, we hear many things about breast cancer, skin cancer and testicular cancer. But all of these have a higher survival rate then any kind of leukaemia. So I am going to make ignore my mission to raise money and donate it to researching the types of leukaemia. This will be a life goal of mine. I want to Be a nurse of some sort so this means a lot.

  • Well done you know have a goal in life hope it works out well I think you will find there is quite a lot of research in to leukaemia like all the other cancer it's just some aren't talked about the same. Anyway good luck with your goal hope it works out for you, God bless you.
