So sorry to hear that your husband has ended up in hospital with pneumonia and I hope he recovers quickly and that he can come home soon. 

I hope you will hear from others here who have been in a similar situation although it is difficult to draw conclusions based on others' experiences regarding life expectancy as each case is so very different. 

I completely understand you need some answers though and perhaps it would be a good idea to approach your husband's medical team and ask them what they think whether there is more they can tell you on what to expect. 

I hope you manage to get some answers soon to help you prepare for the future especially in relation to your children.
