triple negative breast cancer

My daughter has triple negative cancer and have had three chemo tretments.  Not much improvement yet.  given twomonths prognosis.  Anybody knows any trials going on.  I know of one conducted by Prof. Andrew Tutt.  Any information on this or any of the aspects of this will be appreciated very much.

  • Hello im not sure about any trials but I was diagnosed  with grade 3 triple  negative  breast cancer in November.

I am 48 and have just finished 6 rounds of chemotherapy  and today  from my recent Mri been given the all clear.

I had 3 tumours  and they have all  melted away  and I've had a complete  response.

How many treatments is your daughter having?

It wasn't really  until my 4th treatment  that things really started working  fast and that was with docetaxal  and Carboplatin.

I'm now  waiting for a double lumpectomy  with axillary node clearance  and then 15 rounds  of radiotherapy.

  • Hi,

My wife had TNBC, so I am very familiar with this monster, she was'nt eligible for any trials though and unfortunately the illness took her after a 2.5 year battle to survive, it spread onto her lungs, she had 16 chemo treatments (consisting of FEC-T, GemCarbo, Eribulin), 8 blood transfusions and a whole pick 'n' mix of other pills and injections:(

You could try the below link regarding trials, but as with all trials the patient has to meet certain criteria etc, it is most definitely worth investigating though!  Speak to your Daughter's oncologist about options for treatment and never be afraid to push them for things, or at least get them to step out of the box to explore possible options.

Do everything you can to find out about this illness and educate yourself about it, they always say "dont google anything", but I'm glad I did because that told me more information than I ever got out of the medical staff, and in turn it gave me a better understanding of what the doctors were saying to me, it also prompted me to raise questions when I thought there were other things we could do for my wife. Keep at it!
