Secondary brainAdenocarcinoma C.U.P(cancer unknown prImary

Hi,

Im looking for advice, my uncle who has mobility and cognitive difficulties has unfortunately been diagnosed with secondary cancer, they removed a mass from his cerabellum 2 weeks ago, the mass has been identified as adenocarcinoma but they cannot find the primary, so C.U.P has been diagnosed.  The task force have decided my uncle should not receive any treatment as his mental capacity couldn’t handle the treatment and wouldn’t help his quality of life.  As of now my uncle has coped not to bad with the surgery.  I’m so confused as to what is going to happen now, they have removed the mass and cannot find the primary so what makes it terminal? Am I being naive? He’s still in hospital for rehab and they are hoping to get him home to be cared for.  I just have no idea what’s to come they have told me 6-9 months.  Has anyone experienced this? Or similar? I’m still in disbelief and questioning everything so apologise for the long winded description. T.I.A
