Caring for someone with cancer mesothelioma treatment

mesothelioma treatment

my mother has mesothelioma and has been offered 2 possible treatments, 1st option is Vinorelbine tablets and the 2nd option is Nivolumab trial.

has anyone had or know anyone who has had either treatment, as we are trying to work out which treatment will give her the best chances.

Welcome to Cancer Chat coatsyuk although I'm sorry about your mum's diagnosis.
We have information on our website about treatment for mesothelioma just here but do give our cancer nurses a call if you'd like to discuss your mum's treatment options in more detail. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

Sorry for the delay in responding but just seen this post. As Moderator Steph has mentioned I went this diagnosis with my husband. I cannot comment directly on the treatments offered for your Mum as these were not something available to John. He was given the chance of palliative chemotherapy and chose to follow this route which probably gave us the extra year together but he was not well enough to undertake any trials.
Please do not hesitate to come chat if you need to as I found Cancer Chat very helpful through our journey (and beyond to be honest).
