Welcome to Cancer Chat Cat67 although I'm very sorry for the reason you've joined us.
I'm glad you've joined us here on the forum as you'll find that many of our members are sadly on the same journey and hopefully some of them will be along soon for a chat.
I have had a look through the forum and have found that [@eliza16] is 18 and recently found out her grandad has terminal cancer so I just thought I'd mention her in this post in case you want to chat.
You may also like to join in on this discussion but do have a look at the Riprap and Hopesupport websites as they specialise in helping young people cope when a family member has a terminal diagnosis so you'll find plenty of support there as well.
I'm so sorry you are having to go through this but I want you to know that you are not alone and that we'll always be here when you need us.
Kind regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
Hi Cat67! I'm so sorry that you're going through such a horrible situation, and especially at such a young age. I can't even imagine what that's like. I'm sure your mum is very grateful that you're looking after her. She must be so proud of you!
I recently lost my Dad to cancer, and all I can say is that asking for help, as you have, and talking about what you're going through is the best thing you can do (from experience).
Sending you lots of strength and feel free to reach out if you ever need a listening ear! x
Hello dear,
You must be really scared and sad. It's completely normal to feel in despair when dealing with cancer. I'm sorry you have to go through this, unfortunately, it's a disease that doesn't pick genders, ages, races, it really sucks. I'm going through a similar situation, but it is my boyfriend the one who is sick. Sometimes it really feels unbearable.
I also have difficulties sometimes to speak with people, so if you need, please send me a message or something. And feel free to keep posting, the community in the forum will answer so you don't have to feel so alone.
Take care**
