Metastasised Squamous Cell

My husband was recently diagnosed with this 6 months after having the all clear following radiotherapy for cance in the parotid (saliva) gland. He has been told he is treatable but not curable and currently receiving chemotherapy and also a new drug Cetuximab which is not yet tested sufficiently to confirm that it aids the chemo. Due for 6 cycles supposed to end in July but remain on the Cetuximab for maintenance. His mouth and tongue is very sore again like it was after radiotherapy but we cannot find anything (apart for fresh aloe Vera) that helps. This is his worst side effect and is getting him down as it was so bad last time. Does anyone have any ideas on what may help to reliev the soreness in his mouth? United States offer a “magic mouthwash “ but this cannot be obtained in the UK. Thanks in advance for any help.
