So overwhelmed with info

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. She was given letroszol - it didn't work - she then had a mastectomy. After nearly five years of routine checks and being on tamoxifen - they have found a large tumour on her lung and one on her brain. Meeting the oncologist yesterday - she's being given letroszol again. I don't understand why? Tomorrow, we are meeting the neurosurgeon who is very likely to recommend surgical removal of the tumour. They don't believe radiotherapy will work and could only make it worse. The proposal is that after surgery she will have CDK 46. Firstly, brain surgery frightens all of us. My mother is a fit 79 year old which is why they are recommending surgery. Has anyone had this surgery? What should we expect? Secondly - why letroszol now when it was not effective before? Thirdly, what is CDK 46? Is it a form of oral chemo? I asked a lot of questions yesterday but came home and realised I should have asked more. It's all so overwhelming. I've been reading about oncologica. Does anyone know this outfit?
