The chemo conversation

My mum had lung cancer 7 years ago - so small they were able to take half lung away, no chemo , no radio! what a result. yearly checks up been great, even this Mays' - see you in a year. until the hot summer mum started with a cough /chest couldn't get rid of - long story short - cancer is back - so sudden, quick and agressive although not back in her lung, she has  mass to the side, its spread to her ribs and in her lymphatic system - incurable - can look to manage and painfree. Radio has done amazing job killed the excruitating pain. but biopsy after biopsy until recent failed positive for type of cancer. we now know type and going to see consultant today for conversations re chemo options - no idea what this conversation is going to bring - i've seen so many family and friends pass from this cruel disease - i'm not ready to have todays' conversation. its taken forever to get to this stage whilst the disease has been doing god knows what inside my mum.  here's praying something decent can be offered that won't make mum really poorly and give her some extra time and quality of life.

  • I’m so sorry to hear your diagnosis but also good news it’s in remission at present

just returned from 6 hour round trip and appointments - thought we’d get treatment options today only to be told biopsy only just being sent for further test! Another three weeks of waiting it’s excruciating

i honestly feel professionals don’t think chemo will help  they just can’t say that.

i truly hope your remission stays for a good period of time and that you keep well and enjoy a period of wellbeing

    take care x
