Know exactly how u are feeling my dad 67 year old diagnosed on 28th December of osphegus cancer all they have says it wouldn't get cut out we have no info on the type the grade or anything until a meeting happens regarding him this Wednesday

Hello KW; don't worry too much about your reactions (or lack of them)  Everyone copes in their own way.  I did not break down when either my mum or my dad were terminally ill: recently somebody else posted about the same thing and it seems that it not so very uncommon for people  to respond in a way that does not include copious amounts of tears.  And of course the fact that you have personal experience of cancer just adds more stress to your feelings and you end up not able to understand what is going on inside yourself.    I am sorry your mum is unwell and hope that your brother is sharing the caring role with you.  You should not be doing this alone.    In my experience I had a kind of constant ache inside me which drove me on to do the things that needed to be done.  Please take care of yourself and don't worry about details which you cannot help.  I have no doubt you love your father.  Annie
