Hubby aged 66 has psa levels of 351

Hi

My husband was diagnosed last week with prostate cancer. He has to take hormone tablets and week Monday has to start having injections for life. He is due to have a ct scan and mri to check his bones a week Tuesday. The docs said that it was likely to have spread to his bones with it being a high level. Can someone please explain what level of cancer this is so I can get my head around it.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Chrissy although I'm sorry to read that your husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer last week.

Your husband's medical team will be in the best position to tell you this once all his tests have been completed so do be sure you get this question, and any others that are playing on your mind, answered when the results are back.

We have quite a few prostate cancer members here on the forum so fingers crossed some of them will be along soon to share their advice and experiences with you soon but do give our cancer nurses a call if you'd like to have a chat with someone about this. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

Do let us know what happens when you can Chrissy and remember that we are here for you when you need us.

    Kind regards,
