Mums ovarian cancer

Hello

my mum is in stage 3/4 diagnosed too late but can’t see her in pain.  She initially about 5 months ago had endometrium cancer which was treated with chemotherapy and it was all cured and was taking some hormonal tablets.  However last 4 weeks she was complaining of stomach pain and we all believed she was going through psychological issue and depressed and may have upset tummy.   To our shock we found this cancer !  I have a feeling she won’t last much longer but can’t see her in pain.  Doctor now wants to give nivomulab drug but please some share or help me with suggestions. What foods she can take to make it easy as her appetite is hardly anything. Thanks

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Sangrani although I'm sorry to read about your mum's situation.

Your mum's medical team will be in the best position to advise on what foods would be best for your mum but I've had a quick look through the forum and have found this discussion you may want to join in on as well as [@Elanor]‍, whose mum is also contending with stage 4 ovarian cancer.

Although Elanor has joined for slightly different reasons, I'm sure she'll pop by when she can for a quick chat but do feel free to give our cancer nurses a call if you'd like to discuss this with them as well. You can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Best wishes to you both,

  • Hello,

I think you should try with some mushed vegetables and a lot of fish. I prepare tasty food with nice presentation to give the idea of a very delicious recipe.

Some burgers made of potatoes and peas, or boiled fish. Have you tried with that? I also prwparw water as cocktail, with mint leaves and a slice of lemon.

How about diarrhoea and constipation? The good choice depend on it.
